The Roman Forum[]
The Forum in Roman times was an important meeting place, as well as a market place. There were temples nearby. It was a central place in the city. It was usually in the centre of the town. Political debates may have taken place in the Forum, and meetings took place there. There was traditionally a Temple of Jupiter at the north end of the forum.
